8 Week DBT Skills Parents - Saturday 12 ET, 11 CT, 10 MT, 9 PT
This 8-week parent skills group enables parents to learn DBT skills alongside other parents in weekly live virtual sessions. Each week's session is 90 minutes. If your adolescent or young adult is learning DBT skills, you must understand them as well and learn how to properly support their efforts. Even if they are not ready to participate, you can still benefit and pass along the skills you learn. This condensed version of the full adult DBT program is designed to provide busy parents with an introduction to skills they can apply quickly.
Each journey can host 10 parents. When we reach 10 enrolled parents, we will close the journey group and send a notice of the start date.

The works of Linehan and other experts in the field provide supporting evidence that DBT for parents offers skills to help parents find balance between seemingly opposite ideas. Learning to find balance will help parents to:
· Distinguish developmental typical behaviors from problem and crisis behaviors
· Find a balance between being too strict and being too lenient
· Foster independence while providing support
· Avoid the blame game
Key skills from all four modules will be introduced and practiced, allowing parents to apply the concepts learned to their parent-child relationships.
