Teen DBT Skills Journey (13 to 17 years) Tuesdays 7 ET, 6 CT, 5 MT, 4 PT

This journey is completed over 24 weeks, with 90-minute weekly sessions. There will be outside practice assignments and materials. This journey is the most comprehensive DBT program we offer. Our skills journey is based on the curriculum developed by Marsha Linehan, appropriately adapted for age. Each journey can accommodate up to 10 participants and must begin with at least 6 participants. You will be notified of the Tuesday start date as soon as the minimum registration is reached.

This course covers all 4 modules:

  • Mindfulness
  • Distress Tolerance
  • Emotion Regulation
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness
1-on-1 Coaching is available for individuals who miss a weekly session or need more supported skills practice.

DBT benefits for teens:
  • Increased self-awareness
  • Improved skills to change unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors
  • Increased ability to accept and tolerate life circumstances
  • Better communication skills
  • Better academic performance
While we may provide parent support meetings, we strongly recommend that parents complete the DBT Skills Parents program or the Adult DBT skills program to prepare to address individual issues and to better support their teen through a personal understanding of the skills being taught.
